Ancient Worlds Documentary Project
6th Grade
Timeline: 6 weeks
Collaboration: Humanities
Description: Students spent the first few weeks researching their topics of interest in Ancient Greece or Ancient Egypt history. They formulated scripts for voiceovers and created an expert interview talk. Then in Multimedia, they created a group reenactment scene and filmed using skills gained from the previous movie project. Tying together all of the pieces and a Garageband soundtrack, the students presented their work at an Academy Awards style evening event.

One Minute Movie Project

Digital Storytelling- Stories from the Heart and Ancient Egyptian Stories
6th Grade
Timeline: 3 weeks
Collaboration: Humanities
Description: Students made digital stories based on personal narratives. In one class, they were inspired by Ancient Egypt and wrote about their own life experiences through the eyes of an Egyptian character.
In Stories from the Heart, students used their own personal stories and used photography from their archives or from the Internet.
Although they produced two different products, they both came out with unique and interesting results.

Description: Students wrote daily blog posts in response to different prompts that asked them to photograph what matters to them.
They learned the elements of art, composition skills, and were introduced to different photographers to learn about styles and genre. They produced a final photo that represented the theme, "Picture what Matters" and exhibited them in frames in our 6th grade commons space.

Description: Students wrote math inspired stories and created cover art in Photoshop based on the Number Devil. We then published all of their stories and cover art into a book using Blurb Booksmart.
